So fun to gather with folks at Portland’s only culinary bookstore. We potlucked from the book. Folks brought jammy eggs, mushroom rice, khao tod (Thai broken rice salad), sesame noodles, and then also a lot of wings and a big bowl of yakisoba and some perfectly stunning cake.

That night, tremendous chef and chili oil genius Althea Potter and I had a conversation followed by Q&A. Almost 50% of the audience had already read the book and I loved the opportunity to learn about their experiences after. This felt like the closing event of the book launch to me. It felt fitting. Portland has held me with so much care during the publication of Group Living and Other Recipes and I am grateful.
